LOCATION..

Chingford is an east London district located 10 miles north east of Charing Cross with Walthamstow to the south border and Edmonton to the west. To the north is the delightful Epping Forest which although in Essex is maintained by the City of London Corporation. Chingford forms part of the London borough of Waltham Forest which also include the east London districts of Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone and Chingford.

TRANSPORT..

Chingford is served by the Chingford railway station which is the terminus of a branch line from Liverpool Street station. A station is also located at Highams Park which is one of Chingfords districts that also include Hale End, Chingford Hatch, Chingford Mount and Friday Hill. The town also has many bus routes linking it to Walthamstow, Loughton, Leyton and Woodford. The North Circular skirts the southern part of town and gives good access into north and east London.

ABOUT CHINGFORD..

Local areas of interest include the notable Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge which was built for King Henry VIII in 1543 to watch the hunting of deer. Adjacent to this is Butlers Retreat, a Grade II listed building which is one of the few remaining Victorian retreats with in the forest. Station Road in North Chingford hold a varied selection of bars and restaurants including the famous Pat Pong Thai restaurant.

SCHOOLS..

Chingford holds a range of state funded and independent schools with secondary schools including Chingford Foundation School, Heathcote School, Normanhurst School and Rush Croft Foundation School.
